Coach and Paddler Education at B&BCC

Coaching ideas: a pack of cards with great coaching ideas. Go on ... pick a card ....

Dan Goddard's slalom technique blog: technique explained and analysed. Tells you how to do it and how to think about it too. Rather useful.

Canoe Slalom UK: the unofficial web-site for slalom in the UK. Ranking lists, rules, where the sites are, news, slalom gear for sale, technique library. Everything for slalom paddlers.

Canoe Slalom Technique Library: how to do the moves.

Wildwater Racing UK: The WWW home of WWR.

Technique and skills: Paddle Education is a site developed by Claire O'Hara, World Freestyle Champion in collaboration with Jackson Kayak. It's full of stuff about river running and freestyle.

Evil in the Upstream: Slightly esoteric hints on how to do slalom K1, from the masters and mistresses. This link takes you to Part 1. The other 5 parts are easy to find from there.

Respect the Project: Slalom C1 for the cognicenti. In 6 parts, this link takes you to Part 1.

Coaches Corner: the ICF web-site carries articles written by the best on all disciplines.

Judge education: how a slalom course is judged for penalties.

UK Rivers Guide Book: River guides, personals, for sale, courses ...

Our coaches and visiting coaches coach for free:

there is no charge.

Members volunteer their coaching and professional coaches assigned by British Canoeing also work at the club from time to time.

Members occasionally go to coaches or organisations who charge for coaching.

If you wish to invite a commercial coach to the Club site, please read the Guest Coach Policy and abide by it. Make sure your guest commercial coach understands it too.

This agreement seeks to ensure that other Club members' use of the facilities is not compromised and furthermore, that our assets are secure and protected from exploitation for commercial gain, that members are protected from conflict of interests and that the commercial coach's boundaries and responsibilities are clear.
