Here is where you can tell us about yourself.
The info. you give us will help us find the best route into the club for you. It may be a beginner session or we'll welcome you to a general club session on a Thursday or Sunday. We are continuously coming up with new dates for you.
Our beginner sessions are for people without much (or any) experience. We'll need £20 (adults) or £10 (17-) from you to secure your place and will send you details about how to pay once we've worked out which date will suit you best. The fee includes a 3 hour intro session using our equipment and three club sessions which are on a Thursday evening and Sunday morning.
Then you can join as a member.
If you are an adult bringing your children (17 and under) you will have to stay at our site to be available if they need comfort / flasks of tea etc so remember to bring your knitting or better still, get involved.
Our coaches are insured and well experienced.
Towel
Shoes that don't have laces but do have a toe (water shoes are really good)
Close fitting thermal / wool top and bottoms eg a fleece jumper a size too small and trackie bottoms
Swimsuit / speedos
Wetsuit although canoeists don't generally wear them so don't go buying one specially
Jacket: lightweight windproof / showerproof jacket
Some money
ID eg driving licence
Emergency contact info to be handed to whoever's on duty that evening with id sight
Full change of clothes that are dry for when you're off the water.
Under 18? Bring an adult with you who is going to stay at the site during the session.
You will see experienced paddlers wearing specialist clothing. Ask them about it. They also wear board shorts but we don't recommend these for beginners as when you fall out of a kayak, your legs can get knocked so long trousers are good idea.
