Pool nights: paddling in the warm

Pool night dates are on the club calendar

If you or your child is interested in attending the pool please contact Jenny, who will add you to a WhatsApp group for communication.

Demand is high so we are prioritising club members but if when there are spaces, we'll let you know. There is a form below to get in the queue.

Only turn up when Jenny confirms that you have a place.

On the Night

Please meet at the clubhouse at 6:45pm to load boats, paddles and spraydecks.

Sessions will take place at:

Hazelbeck School, Wagon Lane, Bingley BD16 1EE (round the corner from the club)

We must vacate the school by 9pm, this means there will likely not be time for showers unless you wish to get out slightly earlier.

At 9pm load boats and return to the club to put away equipment.

The pool is lovely and warm and so we don’t need all of our winter gear on here!

Suggested clothing:

Swimming costume      Shorts       Rash vest       Goggles       Nose clip     Towel

You will take spray decks, paddles and boats from the club.

Your Role as a Participant or Parent

A designated person each week will be responsible for the following:

1. Collect the key from reception

2. Open the firedoor that leads to Hazelbeck car park, boats are brought in here.

3. Use the key to open the pool area and check it is clean and tidy.

4. Keep an eye on the time - at 8:30pm and 8:35pm give 10 and 5 minute warnings respectively.

5. Ensure everyone is out of the pool by 8:40pm – choose 2-3 helpers to empty boats and put equipment to one side as others begin to get changed.

6. When everyone has vacated, check to ensure the area has been left clean and tidy.

7. Open the firedoor to allow the group to exit with boats.

8. Return the key to staff at reception or leave on desk - leave via main reception by 8:59pm.

We thank you for your support with this, it means the pool sessions can run.

Pool Rules:

  • Children may NOT enter the pool without a coach present.

  • The pool area and changing rooms must be left clean, tidy and as we found them.

  • Parents, please watch all children in the pool and raise the alarm in case of an emergency.

  • Adults, you don't have anyone to watch you: look after each other.

  • The school requests that we continue to observe social distancing measures when encountering other groups and give people adequate space to move around, including keeping boats out of the way.

  • No seal launching off the side (risks ripping tiles off)

Payment and Cost

We hire the pool from Beckfoot School and sessions are charged accordingly to cover this cost.

The cost per person (adult or child) per session is £9

Two children from one family is £16

Three children from one family is £22

Payment should be made in advance via BACS to the club account.

Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot attend a session you have booked onto. We may be able to find someone to take your spot.

Please be aware that we unfortunately cannot guarantee refunds for cancellations due to needing to cover the cost of pool hire. Cancellations made on the day are very unlikely to be filled due to short notice.
