The club's Trustees are the ultimate deployers of coaches.
All coaches working inside the club are Assistants to the Trustees.
That means that you're working under the auspices of the club and will have legal and insurance protection.
To become an Assistant to the Trustees, you need the role and remit of a Paddlesport Activity Assistant (PAA) from the club. This is certificated by British Canoeing with an actual certificate.
Anyone in the PAA group can help you through the process. That's Julie, Wendy, Sally, Mark, Paul or Tony. It's 5 steps.
The 5 steps
Step 1 Have a chat with anyone in the PAA group about what to do.
Step 2 Read through the two documents below. Maybe even print them off.
Step 3 Do a bit of box-ticking on those documents. Which role suits your abilites and what you want to do?
Step 4 Ask to have an observed session and a chat to review that session.
Step 5 The observers then recommend to the PAA Group whether you should receive accreditation and a role. If it's a yes, then you receive a certificate and you're good to go. If no, then you'll already have been guided through what you need to do to get a yes.
All the best with it. It's alright!

Disciplines part 2: sprint. Much here is transferable into slalom and wild water racing. The bit at the end about how poor technique makes the boat inefficient might suggest some drills to do in warm ups.
