Your Safety

Be Safe

You should enjoy your time with the club. Occasionally, you might feel that you are having a hard time because of other people or because the activities are uncomfortable or scary.

It's hard to list the ways in which people can make others feel bad, so whatever your concern, just let us know.

You might be worried for someone else. Let us know.

Contacts

The main people to take worries to are Jason Duckmanton or Wendy but any committee member will help you out. Get in touch straight away. We're here to sort stuff out.

You might want to ring Childline on 0800 1111

If you don't like how we're handling something, let us know. If we don't reassure you, contact British Canoeing. Do not harrass people who are witnesses, accused or trying to sort it out.

Policies

We have Codes of Conduct which are designed to keep us all safe.

Each year you are asked to sign to say that you understand those codes. The Committee will remind you of them if you get it wrong from time to time but knowingly breaching the Codes is unacceptable as it jeopardises everyone's safety and puts Club Officials under pressure.

Check out our Risk Assessments to see what known hazards we have and what we do about them.
